The beauty of creation

Here is another lovely view of Isabella Plantation in Richmond Park. Some of the oak trees in Richmond Park are over 400 years old - so much for our 'three score year and ten'!

Lord of beauty, thine the spendour
Shown in earth and sky and sea,
Burning sun and moonlight tender,
Hill and river, flower and tree:
Lest we fail our praise to render
Touch our eyes that they may see.

I like pictures of trees. There is something about a tree - especially one that stands out or is isolated, that has a beauty about it.

Great picture matched to a fine hymn!

This hymn always makes me think of York Minster when it has been sung at Evensong. Needless to say John Scott Whiteley plays the tune-Regent Square-robustly with an exciting last verse reharmonisation.
