The Highest University in the Land - 18

Today we are visiting Lews Castle College UHI.

Lews Castle College has over 2,700 students, more than 60 full-time and 80 part-time courses, in excess of 30 HNCs, HNDs, degrees and postgraduate programmes, and at least 200 evening classes offered throughout the Hebrides. Impressive statistics which sum us up in a nutshell - we take your education seriously.

Our main campus in Stornoway sits in 600 acres (240 hectares) of parkland overlooking Stornoway Harbour. Stornoway is the principal town of the Western Isles and is home to fantastic sports facilities, a brilliant local arts centre and the internationally renowned Hebridean Celtic Festival.

We have been educating the people of the Outer Hebrides and students from all over Scotland for over fifty years (est. 1953), originally in the historic Lews Castle, now in brand new campuses, as a part of the UHI, Scotland's newest and most exciting higher education institute. We offer post-school education at every level, right up to Ph.D.
