Stirling Castle - 24

In 1537 James V married Madeleine, the daughter of the king of France. Sadly, she soon died from tuberculosis.

In 1538 James V married Mary de Guise, a distinguished French Noblewoman.

These marriages strengthened the long-standing political amity between Scotland and France.
