Corrimony Chambered Cairn - 3

Passage graves like Corrimony are found around the inner Moray Firth.

They may occur singly or in larger cemeteries together with monuments of other kinds. They are known as 'Calva Cairns' after the well-preserved examples at Balnuaran of Calva near Culloden. These will feature in a later posting on this blog.

I am sorry the piper was not wearing full Highland dress, but he was only out practicing. He was extremely talented and told me he was a Chief Examiner for the instrument.
