Peter,I'm absolutely sure they are Pelicans that have been resident in St James Park for as long as I can remember.
Michael,Thank you for this information. To be honest, I thought they were pelicans - but decided I would make a bit of a fool of myself if I stated this - and they were not! So many thanks for the confirmation.
Of course they are pelicans and they live in St James' Park which is one of my favourite parks in London!
