The Joy of the Resurrection - 3

Good Christian men, rejoice and sing!
Now is the triumph of our King!
To all the world glad news we bring:
alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

The Lord of life is risen today!
Sing songs of praise along his way;
let all the earth rejoice and say:
alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

Praise we in songs of victory
that love, that life which cannot die,
and sing with hearts uplifted high:
alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

Your name we bless, O risen Lord,
and sing today with one accord
the life laid down, the life restored:
alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

Peter, I hope you had a lovely Easter. Did you do anything special? What are some Scottish Easter customs?

I had a very busy Triduum at St Columba's Culloden - it was the first Easter for the new church, which was dedicated on 1 November 2008. I made sure we had plenty of alleluias on Easter Sunday - and in fact even more on Easter Monday!

On the more domestic front, I now have an Easter Garden at home! No, not in the religious sense - I just had my new garden landscaped during Holy Week. The turf went down on Good Friday afternoon! They were working on my patio until 11.30 pm on Maundy Thursday evening - whilst I was at church at the altar of repose. I am now busy starting to plant it all up.

I have not come across any Scottish Easter Customs!

Spring is a good time to plant. I hope you will show us pictures of your garden as it is now and as it matures.

My weekday posts will have a more secular feel once the Easter Octave is over - so I will make sure that photos of the garden appear at some stage!
