Potatoes are one of my favourite vegetables - I'm never too happy when they are missing from a main course. It must be due to the eleven years I lived in Ireland!
The birds have obviously enjoyed feasting on the sunflower seeds.
Yes, I lived in Belfast between 1979 and 1990. I was a Lecturer in Economics at Queen's University. I was Church of Ireland in those days, and was Received into Full-Communion with the Catholic Church in September 1991. I was chatting recently with Fr Ignatius Harrison (the Provost of the London Oratory). He told me that he too used to be an Anglican, and we both agreed how blessed we had been through our receptions into the Church. I think he was received on 24 June 1969. I still visit Belfast three times a year as I do some exam work in Northern Ireland.
By the way, thanks for all the compliments on your blog!
