Autumn Glory - 8

On the Feast of All Souls' I visited Pluscarden Abbey. I am pleased to inform both Fr Mildew and Fr Tim Finigan that I put by bike on the train and cycled from Elgin Station.

Here the Abbey is shown surrounded by trees in autumn colour. By now many of the leaves will have fallen off the trees.

To all life thou givest - to both great and small;
In all life thou livest, the true life of all;
We blossom and flourish as leaves on the tree,
And wither and perish - but nought changeth thee.

Great words written by a Church of Scotland minister.

i do have what may seem a silly question, do all the monks receive Communion in the same manner, as in the hand, or on the tongue?
thanks.

The monks usually concelebrate Mass, and so receive the Host on the hand. Others present at Mass are welcome to receive in the hand or on the tongue. Although externally things seem quite traditional, the monks are very much committed to the Modern Roman Rite.
