Stirling Castle - 24
In 1537 James V married Madeleine, the daughter of the king of France. Sadly, she soon died from tuberculosis.
In 1538 James V married Mary de Guise, a distinguished French Noblewoman.
These marriages strengthened the long-standing political amity between Scotland and France.
