During these last few days of Eastertide we join in spirit with Mary the Mother of Jesus, the Apostles, and other holy men and women, as they stay in the upper room in Jerusalem, praying continually for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.Although Jesus has now returned to his Father in heaven, he has promised us that we shall not be orphans - he will send us the Holy Spirit who will be with us forever.
Lord,
send the power of your Holy Spirit upon us
that we may remain faithful
and do your will in our daily lives.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
